Video compression is the latest addition to Avatar's multimedia capabilities. As more and more video content is delivered on CD-ROM and the web, our clients need their videos prepared for CD-ROM, download, and video streaming.

What Is Compression?
When Avatar compresses your video, we prepare your program for display on a computer. We digitize your video and convert it to whatever computer file format you require. Since 'raw' video files are tremendously huge (often many gigabytes!) they must be compressed to useful, deliverable sizes. There are several popular file types for displaying video on computers, such as QuickTime, MPEG, and .avi. We will be happy to help you decide which format works best for you.

What Is Streaming?
Streaming video is a method of delivering video and audio on-demand via the Internet. When you are watching a streaming video on the web, you don't need to download it it just comes! Avatar can prepare your video for streaming, as well as provide server space on our Internet video servers.
